Miniature Circuit Breaker
The Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) stands for Miniature Circuit Breaker and is an electromechanical automatic switch that protects the consumer against both short circuit faults and overload current. Miniature switches are non-adjustable and can operate both magnetically and thermally.
Function-based Miniature Circuit Breaker
1- Type B: The Type B switch is suitable for home and lighting use, which reacts quickly to overload current (between 3 and 5 times the rated current) and cuts off the circuit.
2- Type C: Type C switches are mostly used in industry and are used to start protection of small and low power motors. The function of this miniature switch is to detect currents between 5 and 10 times the rated current as a short circuit and cut off the circuit.
Miniature Circuit Breaker 6000
A miniature switch with a current cut-off current of 6000 is a switch that can withstand a current of 6000 amps in a moment (a few hundredths of a second) after a short circuit and operates in that current.
